At MindFlex, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("the App"). Account Information:

• Email address (required for account creation)

• Password (stored securely using industry-standard hashing - we never see your actual password)

Usage Data:

• MindFlex score and progress
• Challenge history (completed challenges, scores, correct answers, difficulty levels)
• Subscription status and expiration dates
• Notification preferences

Device Information:

• Session tokens (stored locally for authentication)

Note: We do not currently collect device type, operating system version, or app version information. This information is not transmitted to our servers or stored in our databases.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Process your account registration and manage your account
• Track your progress, scores, and achievements
• Sync your data across devices when you log in
• Manage your subscription and provide customer support
• Send you notifications (if you opt in) to remind you to practice
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues

3. Data Storage and Security

Cloud Storage (Supabase):

Your account information, scores, and challenge history are stored securely in our cloud database (Supabase). This includes:

• Email addresses and usernames
• Password hashes (securely hashed, never stored in plain text)
• MindFlex scores
• Challenge history and statistics
• Subscription information

Local Storage (Your Device):

Some data is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage:

• Session tokens (temporary authentication tokens)
• Guest scores (if using the app without an account)
• Notification preferences
• Onboarding status

Security Measures:

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information:

• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard secure hashing algorithms
• All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS
• Row-level security policies ensure users can only access their own data
• Session tokens expire automatically

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase:

We use Supabase for authentication, database storage, and cloud services. Supabase processes your data in accordance with their privacy policy. Your data is stored securely and is subject to Supabase's security measures and compliance standards.

App Stores:

If you purchase a subscription, payment processing is handled by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). We do not collect or store your payment information. All payment data is processed by the respective app store in accordance with their privacy policies.

Device Services:

The App may use device features such as:

• Text-to-speech (for reading questions aloud)
• Local notifications (for daily reminders, if enabled)

These features operate entirely on your device and do not transmit data to external servers.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With service providers who assist us in operating the App (e.g., Supabase for database services)
• If required by law or to respond to legal process
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of MindFlex, our users, or others
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to users)

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: You can view your account information, scores, and challenge history within the App
• Update: You can update your account information (username, email) through the App settings
• Delete: You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in the App
• Clear Local Data: You can clear all local app data through the App settings (this does not delete your cloud account)
• Opt-Out: You can disable notifications at any time through the App settings

7. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for users 6 years of age and older. We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

For Children 6-12 Years Old:

If your child is between 6 and 12 years old and uses the App, we require verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information. Parents or guardians must create and manage the account on behalf of their child. We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the App's educational services.

For Children 13-17 Years Old:

If you are between 13 and 17 years of age, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the App and that they have agreed to this Privacy Policy on your behalf.

Parental Rights:

Parents and guardians have the right to:

• Review their child's personal information
• Request deletion of their child's personal information
• Refuse further collection or use of their child's information

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes or legitimate business interests.

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to our facilities and those third parties with whom we share it as described in this Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted in the App.
